How German e-commerce fashion retailer Zalando translated their mission statement of operating highly customer-centred into a sales promotion campaign with travel incentives
Client Profile
- Zalando is a German e-commerce fashion retailer that maintains a cross platform online store that sells shoes, fashion and beauty items.
- Since the company was founded in 2008, it has begun operating in fifteen European countries and worldwide.
- Zalando initially specialised in the sale of footwear but has since included other areas of fashion and sports. The company also runs an off-price site for designer clothing dubbed Zalando Lounge with the tag line ‘Exclusive brands for amazing prices’.
- Zalando’s competitive advantage comes through their customer-centered shipping, return and payment policies.
Objective
Increase sales with a campaign run in several countries across Europe simultaneously to maximise the impact.
Strategy
We created a Free Flight campaign where each customer with an order value of at least 100€ (in one purchase) within the promotional period received a free flight voucher that could be redeemed through the branded campaign website.
